Caregiver Support Groups

We all have experienced a time in our lives when we needed a little outside help, someone who understands or a place to share with those who have experienced similar circumstances, joining a support group can be beneficial to caregivers. Support groups are safe places to connect with individuals experiencing similar situations and you are encouraged to share personal stories, ask questions and share ideas in an effort to help others.  In the St. Louis metro area there are numerous support groups including general caregiving issues, Alzheimer’s and Dementia, Parkinson’s and Cancer. In addition to traditional community support groups, online groups are forming to allow individuals to connect at a more convenient time and in the comfort of their homes. A simple online search or local paper can connect you to a variety of area non-profits, agencies or hospitals with support groups.  For a more specific illness, disease or area of concern please contact one of our Aging Resource Specialist.
